CAC Adopt-A-Family

It’s so much fun to see and hear about Kairos members joining in God’s work in our communities. Whether it’s with Friends of Refugees in Clarkston, Haiti Outreach Ministries, the Augustine Literacy Project, Saving Hearts Together in Costa Rica or the Community Assistance Center (CAC) right here in Sandy Springs. As this will come of no surprise, I’m particularly thrilled with the increasing engagement of our Kairos community with the CAC!

  • John Chambliss, Drew Ditzel and Paul Cropley are trained and meeting with clients to understand and serve their needs in terms of food, clothing and financial aid
  • Our Kairos artists and business people donated art and vouchers for theVintage Affair silent auction: Rachel Dahm, Corrie Inman, Paul Cropley, Matt Michaelides, Christy Coole, Nancy Langham, Drew Ditzel, and Charlotte DuPre
  • Rachel Dahm’s neighborhood Bible study group makes it a practice to share the word and head on over to CAC to volunteer
  • The CAC Thrift Store is now receiving donations of clothing, household goods and furniture from many of you – a major contribution to operating income
  • The Equipping Fund has provided operating and capital donations these past 3 years

There’s another way I’d love to see all of our community engage this season and that’s by participating in the CAC Holiday Program that provides families with a holiday meal and Christmas Gifts for their children. Adopt-a-Family is an easy way to make a family’s Christmas special. Small groups can band together to adopt one or more families and it’s also a great way to involve your children. Last year over 1200 children had a better Christmas through this program! Click here to adopt a family and get all the details.

Thank you to all those I’ve mentioned and the many others of you who are finding other ways to support CAC and other places God is at work to help those he calls us to love and care for!
