Community Assistance Center (CAC)
Since 1987, The Community Assistance Center (CAC) has played a vital role in the cities of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody in preventing hunger and homelessness by providing assistance for basic needs such as help with rent and utilities, food and clothing, and actively engaging clients to work towards greater self-sufficiency through education and job tools. CAC is a cornerstone of the human services network in the northern Perimeter area. It is largely a volunteer run organization with more than 300 regularly scheduled volunteers making a difference in the lives of neighbors in need!
Members of Kairos are actively involved with CAC, volunteering regularly and on an occasional basis. For more information about CAC and Kairos, contact Cece Webster at cece.webster@gmail.com.

Volunteers staff the food pantry, the Thrift Boutique, the reception desk, and conduct client interviews. Volunteers for these areas are most needed Monday – Friday 10am - 2pm and would ideally be able to work on a re-occurring basis such as once a week.
Individual volunteer opportunities also exist behind the scenes to perform duties such as calling clients, retrieving phone messages from clients, data entry, sorting donations, and food pick-up drivers. Day and evening hours can be accommodated
Throughout the year, CAC seeks volunteers to work on seasonal programs and events such as the school supply and lunch program, Adopt-a-Family for the Holidays, the Food 'n Fun Challenge and the Vintage Affair fundraiser.
Volunteer teachers are needed to teach adult education classes during the day and evenings. Classes include English for Successful Living (ESOL), computer workshops and citizenship preparation
